Week I (Prelim)
Classes in Computer Fundamentals started last Monday, lesson had been discussed. These includes:
Computer Terminologies, brief discussion.
Information size measurements:
Abacus
Calculating tool of early people. Upon reading some information on the web, the origin of this tool is still unknown as of today. It was used in Europe, China and Russia. Ancient people used this before adopting the written Hindu-Arabic numeral system.
A brief information about History of Computer had been discussed as well.
Charles Babbage
The Father of Computing. He was born on December 26, 1971 in Devonshire, U.K. Babbage originated the concept of a digital programmable computer.
Difference Engine
Made by Babbage, an automatic mechanical calculator designed to tabulate polynomial functions.
Analytical Engine
Made by Babbage as well, mechanical general-purpose computer designed by English mathematician and computer pioneer Charles Babbage.
Generation of Computers had been discussed as well, this consists of:
Computer Terminologies, brief discussion.
- Input/Output
